Purpose
Defines the process for launching internal CPR training in new markets to ensure compliance with AHA standards and improve training efficiency.
Scope
Applies to training site coordinators and campus teams responsible for establishing CPR training operations in new markets.
Trigger
- Decision to transition CPR training to internal instructors in a new market
Process Overview
1. Identify Instructor Candidates
- Select qualified instructors with teaching experience
- Ensure willingness to travel and teach regularly
- Verify active BLS Provider certification
- Collect applications and confirm eligibility
2. Coordinate Instructor Training
- Group candidates for training sessions
- Schedule training with approved training centers
- Complete online and in-person certification requirements
- Finalize instructor alignment with training site
3. Secure Training Equipment
- Assess required CPR equipment
- Purchase necessary supplies (manikins, AED trainers, etc.)
- Coordinate storage and logistics
4. Schedule CPR Training
- Identify schools and CPR training weeks
- Assign instructors to classes
- Coordinate schedules with campus managers
5. Implement Internal CPR Training
- Assign certified instructors to sessions
- Transition from third-party providers
