Purpose
Defines the process for releasing CCMA certifications to eligible students through the NHA system.
Scope
Applies to Academic Advisors responsible for verifying eligibility and releasing certifications for medical assistant students.
Trigger
- Student completes all program and certification requirements
Process Overview
1. Verify Eligibility
- Confirm externship completion (minimum 80 hours)
- Verify tuition is paid in full
- Confirm course completion and attendance requirements
- Ensure CCMA exam passed (score ≥ 390)
2. Access NHA System
- Log into NHA portal
- Select correct school location
3. Review Certification Queue
- Locate students pending certification release
- Verify eligibility before proceeding
4. Release Certification
- Grant certification in NHA system
- Finalize release process
5. Record Completion
- Ensure certification release is logged for tracking
6. Notify Student
- Send confirmation message
- Provide instructions for accessing certification
Key Rules
- All eligibility requirements must be met before release
- Minimum passing score is 390
- Certification must be released within 90 days
- Students must retake exam if not released within timeframe
