Troubleshooting Dentrix Ascend Issues
This article explains common Dentrix Ascend login and browser issues, troubleshooting steps students should try first, and how to contact support if access problems continue.
Dentrix Ascend is the cloud-based version of Dentrix used in some Zollege programs and externship sites. Because it runs in your browser, most issues come from browser settings rather than the software itself.
First, try these in order:
(1) Switch to Google Chrome - Ascend is not fully supported on Safari or Microsoft Edge.
(2) Clear cookies and cache for the domain dentrixascend.com (Chrome > Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data > choose Cookies and site data).
(3) Confirm you're using the student practice URL your instructor shared. URLs that point to a real clinic will fail because you don't have a clinic seat.
(4) Disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers and VPNs, which sometimes block Ascend's APIs.
(5) Restart your computer if a practice file loads blank.
