  2. When: After the externship is completed OR after a few months at your first the job, a supervising Dentist must sign your RDA application.
  3. and the Dental Assistant application is signed by the dentist of the externship office
  4. What does the processing look like & when do they get/hear back:
    • Fill out the application for registration of Dental Assistants.
      • Make sure to have everything filled out via fillable ONLY. Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners (ASBDE) will not accept written applications.
      • Students will select 'On the job training through an Arkansas Licensed Dentist'.
    • How are you getting registered?
      • The dentist from the externship OR job needs to sign off on that application.

Radiology

Students must have externship doctors (or employers, if need be) sign off on the state application to become licensed to perform radiology once students become an RDA. Radiology education is included in the program; though official licensure will need to be pursued after becoming an RDA.
