Dental Assistants

Each state has different requirements for dental assistants. The DANB website includes links to all the information you need to understand the requirements for dental assistants in each state. View the different dental assisting levels, along with the requirements for each. You can also view the allowable duties at each level.

Medical Assistants

Requirements for Medical Assistants are certified nationally through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) as Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMA).

Some states do require allied health professionals to be certified, while other states require allied health professionals to be licensed in order to practice. Check with your state to learn about regulations around your chosen profession.
