# Is certification guaranteed upon graduation?

## A general overview of our certification process

Please note that certification is not guaranteed and may vary by state. Some states may require state-specific exams and applications in order to obtain a proper certification or license. It is important to understand that if an exam is required, the student must successfully pass it in order to receive their license.

For more information on state licensing requirements, we suggest checking our [Knowledge Base](https://knowledge.zollege.com?hsLang=en) or reaching out to the [Dental Assisting National Board](https://www.danb.org/).
