What is the Indiana State Licensing Process?
- In the first class, the designated instructor will hand students a permit application. Students with name change will need to bring a copy of documentation with them to class on the first day.
- Once these have been received by the state, permits will be mailed to the students within 2-3 weeks. (To the auditor at the State Dept of Health) Students will turn in the large portion of the Permit, and KEEP the wallet size.
- During the last class, students will complete an Application of Proficiency Certification for Limited Radiographer.
- The student will begin filling out the RHS application - No school code is needed. (DANB.org) Will be completed on their own, not during class. The students will have to create their own account and pay all fees associated with applying for the exam prior to registering for the RHS exam.
- Applications can take 2-4 weeks to be processed. Students should complete this around week 6 or, at the very latest, by week 12.
- Students will receive results in 1-3 business days from the exam date via email.
- Once the student passes, DANB will submit their test results to the Indiana State Department of Radiation Health & Safety. The state will contact the student and provide them with directions on how to apply for their Limited Dental Radiographic License online. Students are responsible for the $60 cost of the license and all recertification fees biannually.
